Initiates are the back bone of any Crusade.  As Templars accept the all too common “Accept Any Challenge” Vow prior to a battle, their effectiveness in close combat arguably doubles that of “average” Adeptes Astartes especially when armed with a bolt pistol and chainsword.

The Neophytes of the Kannas Crusade have recently been recruited from the world of Cephian IV, home to a Black Templar chapter keep.  As Neophytes are deemed worthy by their accompanying Initiate, they will endure the Rites of Initiation aboard the Raubvogel.

Initiates and Neophytes assault a unit of Kroot during a bitter planetstrike struggle against the forces of Tau.

Initiates advance on a choke point held by Ultramarine Tactical Squads and a Landraider.

A newly inserted Crusader Squad is assaulted by Relictors and their Reclusiarch.
