“Brother Duncan, the Astropath has received a message,” informed Castellan Haupt.

“As expected?”  asked Marshal Duncan, Commander of the Kannas Crusade.

“Yes.  Lord Inquisitor Ramius’ cruiser is on schedule to arrive shortly before night cycle.”

“Is the Navras prepared?”

“Yes,” answered Castellan Haupt.

“Very well.  Suffer not the Unclean, Brother Haupt.”

“Emperor be with you, Brother Duncan.”

With that Castellan Haupt turned and made for the hanger bay.  He was charged with engaging Tau forces reported on Sycorax III and would have a majority of the Kannas Crusade at his disposal.  It was also understood, though not stated, he had a secondary mission:  to misrepresent the strength of the Crusade until the intentions and psychic disposition of the Lord Inquisitor were determined.
