About BigDunc

My name is Duncan, but I go by BigDunc around the blogosphere because, well, I’m rather tall.  I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  I’m currently back in college after 5 years in the US Army and 2 tours in Iraq.  Law School is the plan for the coming years.  I should have a job or spend more time studying but instead I spend too much time involving myself in the 40k blogosphere.  I spend most of my time at the Bolter and Chainsword forum and frequent Kirby’s blog regularly for the best gaming advice with the least amount of drama.

I’ve played 40k since Rogue Trader but not consistently or seriously until last year.  Black Templars are the only army I play.  Though I have interest in other armies, I can’t tear myself away from these religious zealots.  Their capabilities and challenges continue to keep my interest.

To be honest, my only interest here is to improve my skills as an armchair general.  One of the ways in which I do that is to work out my ideas on paper.  Thus far a majority of those ideas get worked out on the forums, but I’m thinking of transition that process to this blog.  Some of those ideas stick, most don’t, and a fair share lead to even more ideas.  But in the process I learn more about the game and the capabilities of my chosen army and that’s why I do it.  If in the process of spewing out ideas I help others in some way, that’s awesome.  But if you’re looking for a blog to do everything just short of rolling the dice, you’re in the wrong place.
